Médaille d'Honneur Commémorative
du Prince Philippe d'Araucanie


This Médaille d'Honneur Commémorative was created by Prince Philippe d'Araucanie, sixth head of the Royal House of Araucania, on July 2, 1965.

. Originally this medal existed in three classes, bronze, silver, and gold. Nowadays only the gold class is awarded.

Awarding this medal is authorized by the Auspice Stella, whose current president is Baron Raoul de Lavalette. The medal was sculpted by Mme. Hebert-Coeffin, an officer of the Legion of Honor and an artist for the Paris Mint. The striking of this medal was due to the initiative of Count Pierre Castang de Queilen-Cura. The blue, white and green stripes of the ribbon are taken from the flag of the kingdom.

The obverse of the medal bears a portrait of Prince Philippe d'Araucanie in profile. The reverse of the medal bears the Prince's coat of arms.
